Though the pitch was heavy, overhead conditions were good. Wellingborugh scored four tries, all from their wingers, converted two of them and kicked a drop goal. Elliot Baldwin kicked a penalty for Stags. Wellingborugh made two visits to the Stags 22 in the first half and scored from both of them. It was 12-3 at half time.

Both second half tries came in the final few minutes. Over the eighty minutes possession was about equal.The referee was from Hertfordshire. He gave out three yellow cards, two to W’boro, one to Stags.
